How You Can Help
All
of the work at KHMO is volunteer. The Dept
of the Interior provides the unique, serially numbered aluminum
bands; all other supplies and computer support must be provided
by KHMO. The Gregoires volunteer over 4000 hours a year and financially
support the work of the station along with a few welcome donors. Banding is very expensive in that
the primary capture tool, the mist net, is very fragile and must
be replaced every season. Best
of all the material and design makes them very kind to the birds
which satisfies our primary objective here. KHMO uses up
to 24 of these nets spring and fall, that currently sell for over
$135.00 each. Your help is essential. Many thanks to ATC Corporation,
Julie, Rick, and David G. for their generous donation to our research
capability. We are grateful to Shari and Stan Beaver of Stillman's
Greenhouse for their annual support of our research and to Steve
Sierigk and Acorn
Designs for supplying the wonderful notecards that we use to
thank those who recover our bands. Thanks also to Bridgette Goodman,
publisher of the Schuyler County Hi-Lites for providing for our
data form printing needs, and to our Webmaster, Vicky Kelly without
whose dedication, this web site would not be possible. A special thanks to those whose
contributions continue to help defray our mistnet expenses. Your assistance is very much needed
and appreciated. KHMO also has a short wish list of "in kind"
donations that you may be able to help with. Donations
