Fellow Trollers,

Our last meeting was held at the Watkins Glen Elks Club on December 13th, with 13 members in attendance.  Our treasurer reported a balance of $7,694.39.  Brian Ketchum thanked the club for helping to sell tickets for the Jan Ketchum Memorial Safari Hunt and presented the club with a check for half the proceeds, $1,776.62.   We voted for club officers and for the year 2007 they are: President – Sean Morris, Vice president – Harvey O’Harra, Treasurer – Walt Smithers, and Secretary – Dave Dimmick.

Our awards banquet will be held at the Decoy on February 3rd, 2007 at 6:00 with dinner to be served at 7:00.  The menu will be your choice of 1) Filet $34, 2) Baked Salmon $26, 3) Shrimp Scampi $26, 4) Chicken Parmesan $25, and 5) Chicken Marsala $26.  As always a club member who participates in the required amount of events will get one free dinner and then pay the above amounts for any additional guests.  I will put a red check at the top of the page if you have qualified for club funding.  The banquet is open for all members who want to attend.  Please have your banquet reservations in no later than our next meeting on January 10th at the Watkins Elks Club.  You can also call me at 732-7479 to leave your menu order.  I have an answering machine that is always home if I’m not.

We met as a group and decided to let our rules stand with just a couple of differences and set our tournament schedule for next year.  The schedule is the same except for our October tournaments. We slid the two tournaments one week later this year to avoid fishing on the long Columbus Day weekend.  The two rule changes were:  1)  Rule 35, which would now read that a member must make at least a combination of 9 meetings, tournaments, and/or club functions to qualify for any type of funding from the club for the banquet.

2) 2007 Seneca Challenge Amendments in regard to entry fee.  The Captain of the boat must work and be responsible for staffing one shift at the weigh station at Watkins Glen for the National Lake Trout Derby or pay a $50.00 entry fee instead of working at the weigh station.

Remember that $20.00 dues for the new year are also due at our January meeting.  See you there!!

                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                Dave
