Fellow Trollers,

Our last meeting was held at the Watkins Glen Elks Club on April 12th, with 18 members in attendance.  Our treasurer reported a balance of $6,366.32.  Our tournament season is finely here and we will have two tournaments before our next meeting on May 10th.  Our first tourney will be on April 23rd on Canandaigua with the weigh in at the South End launch.  Captains must have a weigh ticket in their possession by 1:30 pm.  The next tournament will be on Keuka with the weigh in at 1:30pm at the Overlook parking on Route 54A.  That tourney will be on May 7th.  Canandaigua chairmen will be Matt Bryant, Mike Burt, and Russ MacDowall.  Keuka chairmen will be Scott Bodine, Sean Morris, and a drafted helper at the weigh in.

Our Fishing Tackle and Outdoor Show worked out very well this year.  We had 902 paid entries and brisk food sales.  After insurance and advertising we showed a profit of $2,522.57.  Tom thanked Charlie Zwanka, Dick Allington, and Jim Stewart for selling $763.00 worth of raffle tickets for the Lake Trout Derby.  We get a pretty sizable portion of these raffle ticket presales returned to us so that is good news for larger tournament payouts, our annual point fund, and our banquet at the end of the year.  So far our club has sold $3,105.00 worth of tickets with Jim Teribury turning in $1,785.00.  All members should have their ticket money and unsold tickets turned in to Tom Randall by our next meeting at the Watkins Glen Elks Club, which is at 7:30pm on May 10th.

The weigh in sheet for the National Lake Trout Derby is also with this newsletter and captains wishing to fish the Seneca Challenge tournament on July 23rd must be responsible for a shift.  This years Challenge is just a bit different than in the past.  It will be a single day tournament with the same payout as the two day format in the past and it will also be a point’s tournament this year.  The only entry fee is working the shift at the Lake Trout Derby weigh in.  Simply, it will count as one of a captain’s dropped tournaments if they choose not to work the weigh in or have a crew member work the weigh in.  Guess that’s it for this month.  See you next weekend on Canandaigua!

                                                                                    Sincerely,

                                                                                    Dave
